Mewar Aanchalik Gramin Bank sponsored by The Bank of Rajasthan Ltd. was constituted under sub-section (1) of Section 3 of Regional Rural Banks Act, 1976 and was established on 25th June 1983. The Bank is included in second schedule of Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 and is categorises as a Bank, authorised to undertake all Banking transactions under Section 5(B) of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.
Mewar Bank has over the years carved in customer service and rural development. The bank is a pioneer in micro finance and lending to self help groups.
History
From humble beginnings in the year 1983, the Bank has grown into a formidable financial institution. It has been extending financial assistance to both priority and non-priority sectors and economic upliftment of the people spread out in remote rural tribal areas in its area of operation.
