Army School Kota is a Welfare School which is committed to the noble cause of providing quality education to the wards of civilians and defence personnel stationed at Kota. Established in the year 1982 the school has grown from strength to strength and made all round progress. It conducts classes from standard I to XII. The school is run under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society, New Delhi and is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.
Aim & Objectives The aim of the school, apart from imparting quality education to the students is also to bring about their overall development. We impart a type of education that lays stress on character building, team work and infuses among the students a spirit of adventure, fair play and justice, and we endeavor to develop among the students a feeling of pride in Indian culture, moral values and produce citizens who will rise above social, communal, religious and provincial prejudices. We encourage our students to evolve an attitude of positive response to the persistent demand of changing society and yet firmly uphold in them their basic values and standards. We strive to inculcate among our students the spirit of Truth . The motto of Our School is “Truth is God”
ACTIVITIES
HOUSES : For the sake of interaction among the students of different ages and different classes and to promote the team spirit, loyalty and healthy competition among the students, all students are divided into four houses named after the famous freedom fighters, namely :
Gandhi Tilak Patel Subhash
Every student at the time of admission is placed in one of these houses. Each house is headed by one boy or a girl known as House Captain. A Vice House Captain and four perfects are also provided for the help of the House Captain. A member of the staff assisted by several other teachers known as tutors acts as a House Warden. Points are awarded to students throughout the year for the extra curricular activities, games and sports. At the end of the academic year the house which gets the maximum point is awarded with a running trophy.
Inter House Competitions : During the course of the academic year, several Inter house competitions are organised in sports, debate, art and craft, extempore, essay writing, quiz, solo song, group song, group dance, skit and JAM (Just A Minute).
ACTIVITIES : The school offers the following activities and 2 periods per week is assigned to each class for these activities:

The School provides maximum opportunities to a child to fulfill various goals of nation building activities. Character building is the most important part of our education. The school offers a wide spectrum of literary and co-curricular activities such as environmental projects, gardening, handicraft, oratorial contests, essay competitions, debates, dramatics, extempore speeches, calligraphy and quiz competitions. All these competitions are held both in English & Hindi. The aim of organising literary and the co-curricular activities is to enhance the opportunity of direct & diversified experience to the pupil. It is compulsory for every student to participate in at least one of these activities.
VALUE EDUCATION AND GROUP DISCUSSION :The school gives due stress on inculcating moral values among the students. Two of the basic moral values on which due stress is given, are respect and responsibility. Value Education is conducted as a part of class activities in the home room period. Students are given topics based on values like honesty, fairness, national integration, tolerance, prudence, compassion, co-operation, helpfulness, self - discipline, courage etc. to discuss and they are observed and evaluated according to the adoption and reflection of these values in their behaviour. This new method has been found to be quite successful. Taking part in Group Discussion is compulsory for each and every student from Class VI onwards. It is a new concept which finds place in the school time table to develop fluency and accuracy in Spoken English with updated awareness on current topics.
GAMES AND SPORTS :The school provides facilities for all major games and sports to encourage healthy competition and physical stamina. Inter House Competitions are held in all the games available for boys and girls. The popular sports and games played in the school are : Football, Cricket, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball & Athletics. It is compulsory to play at least one game for all the students.
ADVENTURE & STUDENTS' EXCHANGE PROGRAMME : The school caters for adventure activities to the students on voluntary basis. Recently our students have been to MGN Public School, Kapurthala Punjab and had an opportunity to visit Jalian Wala Bagh, Wagha Border, Golden Temple etc. Two Adventure Camps are planned during each session - one summer and one winter adventure camp, besides normal NCC Camp Activities. |
