The college started in 1964 to impart graduate education in Agricultural Engineering leading to the degree of B.E. (Ag.). This college now also offers the degree programmes in Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering & Mining Engineering. From the year 2006 degree programme in Electronics and Communication Engineering has also been added. The programmes has been approved by the AICTE. The admissions in all the degree courses are done through state level centralized Pre-Engineering Test.

The college also offers Master's programme (M. E. and Ph. D. Degree) in Processing and Food Engineering, Soil and Water Conservation Engineering, Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, Renewable Energy Sources and Irrigation Water Management. The college has four academic blocks for imparting instructions, conducting practicals and one administrative block. Library 
General
The library is housed in a separate building and caters the information need of the faculty, students and staffs. The total collection of the library is more than 50000 volumes, which comprise books, reports, theses, standards, current and back volumes of the journal and CD – ROMs.

The Library provides various services for its members such as Lending of books, Inter Library Loan, Photocopying, CD – ROM search, Internet Services etc. The library has a separate collection of prescribed textbooks under Book Bank for the exclusive use of students. Sets of books are issued to all the B.E. students for full semester.
   
Library Management      
Under the provision of statues of the university, a library committee constituted with the Vice – chancellor as the chairman, University Librarian as Secretary, the chairman of the college library committees as members and four nominated members (by the academic council), looks after he proper working of university library, frames rules for the use of library, draws out budget proposals and prepares annual reports.

The central library is under the charge of an honorary librarian and other college campus libraries are under the direct control of the Dean\Directors.

Hours of opening
The service hours of the library are decided by the library committee from time to time. The library opening time is 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
 
Membership
(a) To get enrolled as a member, a person shall make an application on the prescribed from to the librarian/asst. librarian who will        scrutinize it and issues the membership.

(b) The number of tickets that a member is entitled to receive shall be fixed by the library committee and may be taken back or renewed       from time to time.

Information and Placement Bureau
The College has an Information and Placement Bureau (IPB), functioning since 2001. The IPB caters to the needs of students in respect of their placement by inviting companies, MNCs/ Corporate and arranging on-campus recruitments for them; and also acquainting them about the emerging job trends globally. The bureau provides all technical facilities for presentations, written test, online test, group discussion and interviews to the recruiters. This Cell also coordinates various other activities related to personality development aspects like arranging technical talk of eminent managers from corporate and eminent professors from reputed institutes, arranging student-debates on current issues, presentations by students themselves on the subject of their interest. The bureau also invites, from time to time, professionals to the institute to deliberate as to how to prepare for the various competitive examinations like MBA, GATE, RAS, IAS etc. and helps students in selecting a good institute for further studies for a good career.

A team of Professors from various departments of the college manages the state of affairs of Placement Bureau, right from inviting the Companies to the institute and providing them with good of hospitality during their stay with the Institute. Student volunteers also contribute immensely whenever Bureau organizes any event which inculcates in them, a sense of responsibility towards their institute. The Bureau has a large air-conditioned presentation room equipped with LCD, a well furnished air-conditioned interview room, staff –office equipped with phone and internet connectivity, and a waiting room for students.

College enjoys the privilege of having 85% placement of eligible students from various faculties during the academic session 2005-06.
