Things to Do in India - All foreign nationals have to pay their hotel bills in foreign currency only in cash or by traveller's cheque.
- Exchange your money through authorized banks/money changers only. Insist on a receipt when exchanging your money.
- Retain all exchange receipts with you to enable you to reconvert your unspent money on your final departure from India.
- Shopping is recommended from government emporia and suggested shops on list of Department of Tourism. Information on these can be obtained from Rajasthan Tourist Offices.
- Export of most wildlife and their products is banned or strictly regulate. Export of a few permissible items, even as passenger's personal baggage is allowed only under an appropriate export permit.
- Insist on getting a certificate for the legitimate sale of a particular animal product and permission for its export to avoid any inconvenience at the time of departure.
- Taxis and Auto-rickshaws do not have meters in all the cities, but where they do, insist on the meter being flagged in your presence.In case the driver refuses to co-operate, seek the assistance of a policeman.
- Taxi and Auto-rickshaw fares keep changing from time to time and therefore do not always confirm to the reading on the meter. To avoid confusion, insist on the latest fare chart available with all Taxi/Auto-rickshaw drivers and pay accordingly.
- If you wish to visit any prohibited/restricted area, check with the nearest Government of India Tourist Office for the formalities required to the completed.

- While Shopping, try to avoid brokers of shopkeepers.
- While visiting Sikh Shrines, it is obligatory to cover your head before entering the shrine.
- In case of any difficulty, contact the nearest Tourist Bureau or Police Station.
- Concessional Tickets like Foreigners passes for Railways, Youth Fare, Discover India fare and Air Fare (Indian Airlines) are to be purchased in foreign exchange only.
Things of Dont's in India
- Don't get lured by shopping bargains on the street.
- Don't exchange your money with any stranger other than an authorized money changer.
- Don't purchase Rail/Bus/Air Tickets through strangers or unauthorized Travel Agents/Tour Operators. Purchase all Air/Bus/Rail Tickets from authorized counters only.
- Don't encourage beggars, etc., by giving them money or Other articles.
- Don't buy Silver/Ivory/articles or Peacock feathers in bulk.
- Don't wear any footwear while entering a Hindu, Muslim, Sikh or Jain Shrine while visiting the Temple. It is obligatory to remove your shoes before entering an area of worship. Some temples do not permit leather articles to be taken in.
