Kumbhalgarh Sanctuary is located in the most rugged of the Aravali in Pali, Rajsamand and Udaipur districts of Rajasthan.
 

Interoduction
Located 90 kms away from Jodhpur, the Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary is a nature lover's delight. This famous sanctuary covers an area of 578 sq kms and is home to many exotic varieties of animals and plants.

The wild populace of Kumbalgarh mainly consists of animals like the Leopard, Sloth Bear, Hyena, Wolf, Jackal, Jungle Cat and the four horned antelope (Chausingha). Meanwhile, the park is also home to exotic animals like the Nilgai, Sambhar and Chinkara.

Visitors can also indulge in a number of bird watching tours at the Kumbhalgarh Sanctuary in Rajasthan. In fact, the sanctuary is one of the best places where you can catch sight of birds like the Red Spur Owl, Peacock, Parakreet, Golden Oriole and the White Breasted Kingfisher.

Meanwhile, Kumbhalgarh's rich flora draws its own share of enthusiasts. In fact, the forested areas of Kumbhalgarh hide many rare trees and plants, some of which boast of medicinal properties.

Kumbhalgarh Fort
This majestic fort was built by Rana Kumbha in the 15th century. Encircled by a 36 km long wall, the fort has seven massive gates and ramparts located one within the other.

This temple houses a unique statue of Lord Mahavira with a mustache. Complete with an impressive gateway, the Mucchal Mahavir temple is a must visit site for anyone touring the Kumbhalgarh area.
