I have been buying and selling vintage costume jewellery and accessories for about 30 years. This developed out of an interest in collecting. I started selling in markets such as Covent Garden and antiques fairs such as Greenwich Deco and Kensington Decorative Arts. Currently I share a stand with Lola of Unicorn at Grays Antique Markets (The Mews) by Bond Street tube station. The Mews is at the back of Grays Antiques. I am in the basement next to the Victory Cafe.
I sell vintage jewellery, bags, compacts and other accessories such as powder boxes. My favourite period is the 20's - 30's but will sell anything that I like. This includes art deco, early plastic jewellery - such as celluloid jewellery, bakelite jewellery, jet jewellery, Czech glass and Italian glass jewellery, silver, 40's jewellery, and more modern jewellery such as 60's plastic jewellery, Lea Stein and Butler and Wilson. I particularly like beads and re-thread and restore necklaces. Most of my jewellery is European, but I do have some American jewellery.
I prefer to sell in my shop - as I like the contact with my customers and feel that it is good to try the jewellery and accessories on - but am happy to help anyone who cannot get to London, or who cannot find something. Also I like to look at things when I buy them, but am always glad to hear from anyone wishing to sell something interesting
